To Barkha Dutt -Managing Director NDTV India.
I heard the comments made by Simi Garewal earlier on your show. First and foremost, I am appalled at the quality of journalistic intelligentsia on the part of Barkha Dutt to have the young man from the audience apologize to Simi Garewal on a clearly just cause as he objected to Simi Garewals racist comments.
Secondly, Simi Garewal represents all that is wrong in India that led to Muslims being marginalized and exploited. I think earlier in the show the Muslim guest with lost family members was an excellent example of the fact that terrorism knows no religion. But the appalling lack of cultural understanding on the part of a two-cent armchair expert against an entire community reflects on her, her parents and her upbringing /education.
Being a Mumbaikar, I am ashamed to share the city with such an uncouth, ignorant and shameless individuals. Simi Garewal has reduced herself to a non-entity with such racist slurs...I suspect she has lost her mind and she shelters under cheap slogans ....a response probably to her waning popularity perhaps!...even if it means blaring her airhead intelligentsia in front of a largesse audience.
I expected much more sensitivity from Barkha Dutt..and she is the managing editor of NDTV....God save NDTV...her Columbia education would be an utter waste...Unfortunately, these military men's daughters can be as ignorant as their western counterparts.
