All That Old Hat
Who was it that labelled Ray’s work as “exporting poverty”? The Indian worthies never understood Ray’s films, they were never even sent for the Oscars.

Al Qaeda As Proteus
Hats off to Outlook for writing this piece. It is quite natural for Islam to be fragmented in its practice, interpretation and signifiers in India as it is anywhere else in the world. It is pure bigotry for some Indians to attack Indian Islam and Muslims in India on the basis of terror conflicts. Obviously, they have still to understand what the
Indian constitution is about and what Indian secularism is about.

Syco-Phantoms
Amazing, the line of Gandhi sycophants never ceases and never ceases to amaze me (The Gov’t Is Combatose, Jul 18). It does tell of how Delhi is so similar to Washington, with clouds of whispers of power being wrested, bought, begged and reported, in this case among a circle of few. The only difference is Delhi still heads a billion dreams and hopes.

What
a cock-and-bull story (Built For Speed...Them?, Jul 25). Neither Mumbai nor India have proper traffic rules and don’t enforce licensing regulations—a clear indication is the utter disregard Indian drivers have for the right of way of emergency vehicles.
